In the Fruits and Vegetables business unit, we signed an agreement with the startup Food for Future (F4F), which will allow us to transform nearly 500 tons of organic berry waste annually into compost and protein in the form of flour for pet, bird, and fish feed. This will also prevent the emission of more than 340 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e), one of the main gases responsible for global warming.
With this process, we are helping to significantly reduce methane (CH₄) production. We also generate a byproduct that is a regenerative soil bio stimulant that will be applied back to our producers’ fruit crops.
